• Plant Based Festival - July 28, 2019 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Location: The Village at Gulfstream Park - 601 Silks Run in Hallandale Beach in Champions Plaza. The City of Hallandale Beach, Commissioner Anabelle Lima-Taub and The Village at Gulfstream Park present the premier 2019 Plant-Based Festival. Enjoy a day of food, drink and fashion that empowers people to live happy and fulfilled lives and make positive contributions to our community. This local green initiative event is FREE and open to the public.


Hollywood Neighborhood Capital Improvement Funding Available - Now through August 15. Calling all eligible Neighborhood and Civic Associations, now is your chance to submit a project for up to $13,000 to be funded in your neighborhood. The Neighborhood Capital Improvement Program was developed by the City to work cooperatively with eligible Neighborhood and Civic Associations to identify capital improvement and beautification projects that can enhance the safety and/or aesthetic appearance of their low-to-moderate income (LMI) neighborhoods, compliment other City initiatives and encourage community involvement. • 50th Anniversary of the Historic Landing on Hollywood Beach - On Saturday, July 20, 2019, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., they will be honoring the 50th anniversary of the historic landing on Hollywood Beach by adventurer John Fairfax who rowed solo across the Atlantic Ocean for 180 days from the Canary Islands. • Home Landscapers Often Turn To Broward County Parks For Advice - What to put in the ground, what to do with it once it’s planted? Whenever possible, the parks department emphasizes plants native to South Florida. Toward that end, they regularly welcome vendors selling native plants. Homework Help & Tutoring Program - July 20, 2019, 0:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Certified teachers meet with small groups of students in one-hour sessions at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to provide free homework help and tutoring in reading for any grade, elementary mathematics or elementary sciences. Students should bring any materials related to their homework questions or subjects they need assistance with. The Homework Help & Tutoring Program is funded in part by The Children�s Trust. • City of Sunny Isles Beach Cultural Trip - The Festival Flea Market July 23, 2019 at 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. Let us do the driving as you join our group in a fun day of shopping at the Festival Flea Market Mall. This sprawling shopping paradise is a quarter-mile long with over 500 shops, restaurants, and gift boutiques. Fee is $10, or $5 with a valid City-issued SIB Resident ID Card. Tickets can be purchased at Pelican Community Park or the Government Center. The bus departs the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center at 9:30 am. The bus returns at approximately 4:30 pm.
